Hours

Check-in/Check-out

• Minimum check-in age is 21 years.
• Early check-in and/or late check-out may be available for an additional fee per option. If interested in either option, contact the management office in advance of your arrival to inquire about availability.

After Hours Check-in

• If your plans change and you need to arrive outside of normal business hours, please contact the business office before we close for further instructions on how to gain access to the park after hours.

Reservation & Rates Policy

• Rates are based on four (4) persons aged 5 years and older.
• The rates displayed do not include any applicable service fees or charges for optional incidentals.
• At the time of booking, if the total is less than $250, then your credit card will be charged a minimum deposit of $250. If the total is more than $250, then your credit card will be charged the full amount.
• Prices and site type are subject to availability.
• Displayed rates and package prices are subject to change.
• Site assignments cannot be guaranteed.
• By using a credit card for a deposit, guarantee or payment, you agree to the following: I authorize MHC Property Management L.P. to charge any expenses incurred during my stay to that credit card or apply funds I have on deposit with MHC Property Management L.P. against what I owe.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

• No refunds will be issued for early check-out.
• In the case of multiple sites booked cancellation penalties apply to each site that is cancelled or changed.
• RV campsites: For stays 1 to 27 days, we allow full refunds for cancellations up to 2 days prior to your arrival date.
• Rental accommodations: For stays 1 to 27 days, we allow full refunds for cancellations 7 days prior to your arrival date. For guests booking a stay in a rental accommodation located in California of 30 or fewer consecutive days, a full refund will be given for reservations cancelled within 24 hours of booking provided the reservation’s arrival date is at least 72 hours after the time of booking.
• Long-term or seasonal stays: For stays 28 days to 184 days at an RV campsite or in a rental accommodation, if you cancel or change your reservation up to and including 45 days prior to your scheduled arrival date, we will issue a refund for the amounts paid by you. If you cancel your reservation and provide less than the required 45 days’ notice, you will forfeit your deposit amount. For guests booking a long-term or seasonal reservation in a rental accommodation in California (31 days to 184 days), if you cancel or change your reservation up to and including 45 days prior to your scheduled arrival date, we will issue a refund for the amounts paid by you. If you cancel your reservation and provide less than the required notice, you forfeit your deposit amount.
• Annual stays: Due to the strong demand for our extended-stay reservations (lasting 185 days or more) and the limited site availability at many of our campgrounds and resorts, we recommend securing an extended-stay site by placing a site holding deposit. This deposit can be made at your convenience and consists of a $150 site holding fee, which is fully refundable under the following terms and conditions. Should an Agreement for Use of RV Site for your extended stay not be fully executed within seven (7) business days (excluding weekends and federal holidays) following our receipt of your $150 site holding deposit, or within any additional time needed between the parties to finalize the Agreement, then the site holding deposit ($150) is fully refundable to your original form of payment. Once we issue your refund, it may take an additional 7-10 days for your financial institution to make funds available in your account. Please contact us at (855) 336-8892 if you have not signed an Agreement for Use of RV Site or received a refund within that time frame. Please note that the $150 site holding deposit secures a site at your selected campground or resort, but does not secure a specific site. A manager or other employee working at that campground or resort should reach out to you after you make the $150 site holding deposit to discuss site location and the execution of an Agreement for Use of RV Site. In order to sign an Agreement for Use of RV Site allowing an extended stay at a campground or resort, you must meet residency requirements for seasonal or annual stays. If you become an annual guest pursuant to an executed Agreement for Use of RV Site, the $150 site holding deposit will then be applied to either the administrative fee (if applicable), or will be credited towards the annual site payment. Advertised rates do not include taxes and fees. Electricity is not included for stays of 30 days or longer. Usage of any seasonal or annual site may be limited to dates that the campground or resort is open. While, if you become a seasonal or annual guest pursuant to an Agreement for Use of RV Site, you may leave your RV on the site year-round, there are restrictions that limit the amount of time you may occupy your RV on the site that vary by campground and resort. Open dates and length of stay vary by campground and resort. Must be a current Thousand Trails member or purchase a Camping Pass membership in connection with seasonal or annual stays at Thousand Trails campground. Amenities vary by campground and resort. Pet Policy & Associated Fees

• Pets are allowed at campsites and in all rentals.
• Pets are allowed in the camp resort, with the pet owner responsible for cleaning up after the pet and keeping the pet under control (leashed & refrained from excessive barking).
• Pets are not allowed at the beach, lake, pools, waterslide or campground buildings.
• Pet Walk: available 24 hours.
• Pets welcome. No breed restrictions listed, but no aggressive pets are allowed. Two (2) pets total per site. Please clean up after pets, always keep on leash, and do not leave unattended on site. Additionally, uncontrolled barking or excessive noise complaints registered against any pet may result in guests being asked to leave the campground without refund.
• Pet policy for rental accommodations: Pets are welcome. For those who camp with pets, there is a pet fee of $10 per pet per night for our pet-friendly rental lodging. The fee may vary at select properties. Service animals are not pets. The Company complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and state/local laws regarding service animals. Service animals may accompany a disabled person without any proof of disability or certification for the service animal. Guests traveling with a service animal will not be charged a pet fee. Charges may be incurred, however, should a service animal damage the rental lodging.

WiFi Availability & Associated Fees

• O'Connell's RV Campground does not offer WiFi. Jabba Communications offers complimentary WiFi throughout most of the park. They also offer higher speeds for an additional cost. Guests must contact Jabba Communications directly. On-site staff cannot assist with this.

Campground Services & Information

• Tow Trailer Rules: Tow trailers are permitted on full hook-up RV sites if it fits within the limits of the site.
• One (1) camping unit permitted per camping site.
• Max length on water & electric sites is 26 feet.
• Extra Person Charges: Rates are based on four (4) persons aged 5 years and older. $10 per night for additional persons 5 years and older.
• Retail Monthly RV Stay: Available for stays of 28 days or more. Electricity is an additional charge.
• Cable TV: No cable available on camping sites.
• Honey Wagon: No honey wagon service.
• Firewood: Due to the eminent threat of the beetle infestation firewood cannot be brought into the park. Bundles of firewood is available at the Camp Store.
• Golf carts are available to rent - prices vary. Golf carts sell out quickly. We advise that you book your golf cart at the time you make your reservation. For questions about golf cart rentals, call the front office.
• You may bring a golf cart of your own into the park if it meets park regulations of 4-wheeled, lights (front & rear) and horn. A $30 fee will apply for each visit. Proof of insurance is also required for each visit. Only licensed drivers may operate the cart.
• Not permitted: 3-wheeled cars.
• Scooters, minibikes, or ATVs are not allowed in the park.

Additional Information

• Proof of insurance and a driver's license(s) are required.
• We reserve the right to protect the rights of our guests, trees, and other natural beauties for the benefit and safety of all.
• Children are to be accompanied at all times, including while using washrooms and pools.
• Proper swim attire is required at the water slide and pool area.
• Parents need to accompany children 15 years old and younger at all water facilities.
• There are no lifeguards on duty.
• All children under 18 are to be at their own site during quiet hours.
• SMOKE FREE ILLINOIS. Our campground follows the State of Illinois smoke free policy that prohibits smoking within 15' from any public entrance or in any public building.
• Campfires are part of the camping experience. However, put them out properly when not attended.
• All fires must be of reasonable size to not to endanger anyone or anything.
• Safe, slow driving is required for cars, bicycles & golf carts as children are at play throughout the entire park. Please observe the 9 3/4 MPH speed limit on all park roads.
• Management reserves the right to evict, at our discretion and without refund, any person whose conduct is objectionable or violates parks rules.
• Entrance onto the campground property constitutes permission for the management of O'Connell's RV Campground in Amboy, Illinois to photograph the visitor while on the premises and to use any resulting pictures for any lawful purpose without compensation to the visitor.
• Guests assume all risks and danger incidental to the activity of camping in a rustic outdoors environment including specifically (but not exclusively), the danger of being injured by insects or other animals, of being injured while participating in recreational activities, such as hiking, swimming, or boating at the RV Campground or of being injured as a result of inclement weather conditions, and agrees that the RV Campground and its owners, agents and employees are not liable for injuries or property damages resulting from such causes.
